This Arduino Alert System Sends You a Text When the Laundry Is Done

When your washer and dryer stop vibrating, the machine will know and alert you accordingly.

With a few supplies and a Temboo and Twilio account you might make your own.

Wire up the system with jumper wires, mount it, plug it in, and test it out.
