If youre a Bebox owner, disconnect it from power and stop using it immediately.

Lets get this out of the way first: The Mohu Bebox isexpensive.

Mohu is selling itdirect for $500, and you canonlyget it direct.

How to Choose the Best Over-the-Air Antenna for Free HDTV

That said, theres a lot to like!

At the same time though, itand Mohuarent perfect, and we need to talk about that.

It even has a nice carrying notch/handle in the back.

Setup is simple enough, and streaming even easier.

Then fire it up and listen through the BeBoxs internal speakers.

Instant Internet-connected stereo, in any room of the house.

Thats not where it ends though.

Unplug the power, pick it up, and put it anywhere you want music.

You have plenty of listening time before you should probably come back and plug it in.

Where It Excels

First of all, the BeBox sounds great.

It features one 6.5 long throw woofer, two soft dome tweeters, and two 3 midrange drivers.

Dont get us wrong, the BeBox doesnt soundamazing(more on that later).

Bass is deep and heavy, highs are crisp and clear.

So the audio is good, Android on a stereo is great, and the battery life is exceptional.

Sure, it sounds great and can get pretty loud, and the cabinet is beautifully built.

But for all of the BeBoxs thundering bass and impressive volume, the soundstage and mid-range are pretty muddled.

Itsway betterthan any Bluetooth speaker Ive tried though, so keep that in mind too.

Also, Mohu has a penchant for building devices, putting Android on them, and walking away.

The microSD card slot?

64GB, no more.

Or because you got an email.

Or because you have a calendar appointment.

No one wants their hangouts, email, or other notifications on their audio system.

Alternatively, roll a new Google account just for the BeBox.

Its price, however, gives me pause.

$500 is a lot to spend on this one equipment, even if its good.
