Plex for Android Update Simplifies Licenses, Adds Photo Casting

Today, the company is simplifying it to one, simple app on the Play Store.

The way it works now is there’s one free Plex app on the Google Play Store.

To unlock streaming functionality, there’s a one-time $5 in-app purchase.

PlexPass users can also unlock the functionality by logging in.

The separate, free app that used to solely be for PlexPass users has now been deprecated.

It’s not all license reshuffling, of course.

The app has also been updated with some ofthose fancy Android 5.0interface elements.
