There have beentroubling signs with the company too.

Microsoftremoved those restrictions last Februaryso OneNote is now completely free.

Theres still a paid version of OneNote 2016 that lets you store your notebooks outside of OneDrive.

However, we like 100% free, so were okay with the OneDrive requirement.

Thats great for recording meetings or lectures.

The web clipper is also now available for Safari and Firefox.

OneNotes most useful new update arrived in its Android app: the OneNote badge.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, getting notes into OneNote ismucheasier across all apps and versions.

The web clipper is alsoa lot more functional.

You cant collapse nested notes in the Mac version, for example.

Evernote is more like a filing cabinet, with a simpler notes interface yet powerful tagging capabilities.
