Both apps include the important stuff, like customizable swipe actions, Dropbox integration, and email snoozing.

you could replace Mailbox easily enough with one of these.

Heres how to set them up to work as much like Mailbox as possible.

Its pretty intuitive, has enough options that you’re able to customize it, and its free.

Spark isnt quite as pretty to look at as Mailbox, but function-wise, it gets the job done.

Once installed, youll just need to make a few tweaks so it works like Mailbox.

Obviously, you should pick and choose here: Mailbox wasnt perfect, and many of Sparks defaults arebetter.

Regardless, heres how to get Spark pretty darn close.

Now, pretty much every email client has this feature.

Lifehacker Image

Tap parameters > Snoozes.

Under Tomorrow, change the time 8:00 am.

Tap the checkbox next to Weekend and change the time to 10:00 am.

Under Next Week, change the day to Monday.

Now, Spark should mimic Mailboxs default behavior as closely as possible.

Luckily, most modern email apps do this now in some form.

Sparks default swipe actions are a little different than Mailboxs though.

Tap the Swipes tab.

Now, you just need to change each swipe so they work the same as Mailbox.

Tap Archive and add it.

Tap Add New again and repeat the process for Spam.

you could do the same thing with Spark.

Head into the sidebar panel again, then tap the Personalization button.

Tap the Widgets tab.

Tap Widgets Position and set it to Top.

Swipe left to delete the Calendar (if you dont want it there).

Tap Add New

Tap Snoozed, then add.

Tap Add New again, and tap Inbox, then add.

Tap Add New one last time, then tap Archive, then add.

Thats it, now the top tab menu has all the same options youre used to seeing.

Tap controls > Connected Services.

Lets turn that off:

Tap the sidebar icon.

Tap the Quick Replies button.

Set the Use Quick Replies toggle to Off.

Plus, its available on bothiOSandAndroid, and its free.

If youve been using Mailbox, then this can be a bit confusing.

Scroll down to Focused Inbox and set the toggle to off.

Now, your inbox will be just that, a normal inbox organized by time and date.

Just remember its on, so if you wonder where all your email went, youll know.

Scroll down and tap Swipe Options.

Change the Swipe Left option to Schedule.

Schedule is Outlooks version of Snooze.

You cant choose specific times, but youll get a pop-up with plenty of options.

Change the Swipe Right option to Archive.

Heres how:

Tap Files.

Tap the Add button next to your service of choice.

Sign in with your account.

Yes, its that simple.

Neither Spark or Outlook are feature-perfect replacements for Mailbox.
