Installing an inline cord switch is an easy project that will make turning on your lamps much easier.

This do-it-yourself project can be done in 5 minutes.

You need a knife to cut the cord, wire stripper, screwdriver, and cord switch.

First, unplug your lamp and decide where you want your switch located.

Use your knife to split the wire between the ground and hot sides.

double-check you dont cut into the insulation on either wire.

bring up the switch by removing the two screws holding it together.

One side will reveal the switch mechanism.

Then, secure them by tightening the screw.

Fit the ground wire into the switch and wrap up the switch.

Plug the lamp in and throw the switch.
