Toilets can last for years, but when its time to replace them, you just know.
From water leaks to broken seats, a damaged toilet offers a great opportunity to upgrade.

Read the manufacturers instructions carefully, as installation details will vary between make and models.
Turn the knob clockwise to tighten it and turn off the water to the toilet.
Then flush the toilet to drain it of any water.
Soak up any excess water with a towel.
Remove the water line from the toilet by unscrewing it from the tank.
Use your socket or crescent wrench to remove the bolts at the base of the toilet.
Press down firmly to ensure youve got a good connection.
It is held in place by two bolts that connect it to the base.
check that any included gaskets are attached, as this connection must be watertight.
Lower the tank onto the base and secure the two bolts.
Lastly, attach the seat to the toilet and reconnect the water line to the tank.
When you are ready for the moment of truth, turn the water back on.
Check for any leaks between the floor and the toilet and the base and the tank.
Most take the weekends off.
