Old habits die hard.
Heres how this might work for you.
In an ideal world, wed all easily develop habits that set us up to succeed.
Of course, reality is a party-pooper, sincebuilding new habitstakes constant, concerted effort and repetition.
Oftentimes, the challenge lies in justrememberingto do the damn thing every day.
Technology to the rescue!
Exceptthere are juuuuuust a few stepsbefore we get to scheduling any new habit.
While weve discusseda similar method for simple habitsbefore, mine is a bit more specific to health and fitness.
The key is tobreak down the habit to its smallest repeatable stepand putthaton your calendar.
Rather you might benefit from having something like, Prepareovernight oats for breakfast tomorrow instead.
Figure Out the Time and Frequency
Ask yourself how often youd like torealisticallydo said habit.
that would be most feasible for you to be available and able to take action.
Over time, you could raise it as you get better.

Its important to honestly assess your progress with the habit.
Break it down further.
There could be conflict in the time and frequency; try another time slot and reduce frequency.
Youve associated the alert sound with something else and may ignore it.
Try tying a specific sound to your habit appointments.
If you slack off too much, youll have a harder time turning it into routine.

One habit at a time.
Its best to wait for (or force) your situations to become more congruent with your habit goals.
Still, if you find yourself missing alerts here and there, dont call it a wash. ## Have Patience
Some have said it takes 21 days to make a habit stick.
Thats 2 to 8months, depending on the habit, the person, and the circumstances.
Itll get easier with time.
