This week, with tax day on the way, were reminding you to stay secure.

So, how to keep it secure?

Bring your briefcase and make it like a spy movie.

The important thing is this: Theres no middleman with an in-person hand off.

Its your hand to your tax preparers.

Theres little more secure than that.

Now say they did that from a public Wi-Fi data pipe.

Things just got very un-secure.

One of those is Dropbox.

Say you and your tech-savvy tax preparer set up a shared Dropbox folder.

Again, has its weak points, but still pretty secure.

Sounds a little doomsday, doesnt it?

If youdosend your tax documents unencrypted via email, will your identity be stolen?

Im sure a lot of people do it every day and are none the worse off for it.

Thats why, despite some pretty reasonable digital options, wed still recommend handing the docs off in person.

Anounce of preventionand all that.
