When you’re dealing with a crisis and feeling desperate, it’s important to talk to about it.
But it can be hard to open up or find someone willing to listen.
The Crisis Text Line aims to make it a little easier.
Trained volunteers are on standby to listen and help talk you through a crisis.
When in crisis, you simply text 741741.
And, according to the site:
You’ll receive an automated text asking you what your crisis is.
Within minutes, a live trained crisis counselor will answer your text.
The service is totally anonymous and free, although the standard texting rates from your carrier apply.
Specialists use active listening to help people in moments of crisis.
But for young people who genuinely need help, it’s good to know this service is available.
