You work for an interesting company, and you like your boss and co-workers.
And, more importantly, to recognize these signs that tell you when it might be at a standstill.
Could you at least take on some new responsibilities?
Or, if there isnt an opportunity for you in your current department, maybe there is in another.
or What does a typical career path at your company look like?
Perhaps itssomething youre doing and youre unwittingly self-sabotagingif thats the case, you have something to work on.
You dont even necessarily need to be seeing mass layoffs or salary freezes.
If growth really is slowing down, pretty soon youre going to be in that first situation I mentioned.
Your Whole Industry Is Shrinking
This one requires taking a step back.
But the earlier you catch on to it, the better off youll be.
The good news?Plenty of people change careers.
What do you love about your job now?
What are some things youve always been interested in?
What are some interesting jobs youve seen friends and colleagues have?
Take those answers and see what other fields utilize those skills and talents.
Once youve recognized that theres a problem, the next step is to do something about it.
