Today, Google held the keynote for its annual developer conference, Google I/O.

Here’s some of the best stuff we heard about today.

The last time Google’s mobile OS got a major face lift was in the Fall of 2011.

One of the more prominent changes is to the notification system.

Now, you’ll be able to access your collection of notifications directly from the lock screen.

Just like before, you could expand the notifications and take action directly from the lock screen.

you’re free to also swipe up to unlock the phone.

Despite being flat and digital, they have behaviors, layers, and react when touched.

It’s a neat idea and looks pretty fantastic.

Attentive users will recall that Google already tried once with Google TV, and again with Chromecast.

Google search is fully integrated and allows you to search live TV or Google Play.

Google demonstrates by asking “Who played Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games?”

The TV responds with the same info cards you’d expect from regular Search.

Hulu and Amazon are conspicuously absent (as they usually are when these things first come out).

Android TV also includes support for gaming.

Android TV will be available later this year.

Chromecast Gets Some Sweet New Features

Google announcedsome killer new featuresfor the Chromecast.

The Chromecast will display a pairing PIN on your TV that anyone can enter to cast to your gadget.

The feature is opt-in so you could control when people are allowed to do so.

you might also now mirror your Android gear directly to the Chromecast.

Simply tap a button and your equipment’s entire display will be mirrored on your television.

The ultimate goal is for Android apps to run alongside Chrome web apps on your laptops.

The integration doesn’t end there.

you could also unlock your Chromebook with your phone.

When your phone and Chromebook are near each other, your Chromebook will automatically sign in to your account.

you’ve got the option to also use voice commands and get information on your car completely hands-free.
